Sanders, Director of Public Works DATE: 7/19/2012 RE: Purchase of a 361x56' Office Building from Mobile Modular for the Department of Public Works. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the City Commission approve the resolution for a purchase agreement with Mobile Modular for a 36'x56' double -wide trailer to be placed under the Lehman Causeway in an amount not to exceed $115,324.00 REASONS: Approval of this resolution will allow staff to purchase a 36'x56' trailer for the Department of Public Works from Mobile Modular under a "piggy- back" contract with Suwannee County Schools #11 -203. The trailer will be located under the Lehman Causeway adjacent to the existing Public Works compound. The trailer will include three (3) offices, one (1) break room, one (1) conference room and two (2) restrooms. This facility will house the Public Works Administration, Street Maintenance, Construction Maintenance, Fleet Maintenance, Transportation, City Engineering, and Stormwater Maintenance. Once Mobile Modular receives the purchase order, it will take approximately six (6) to eight (8) weeks for the modular to be built. This will give the City time to address any issues regarding permits or utility connections; we anticipate a cost not to exceed $60,000.00 this amount includes various utility hookups and permit fees. We also anticipate the cost of office furnishings will not exceed $25,000.00 not to be confused with the purchase order of the Mobile Modular for an amount not to exceed $115,324.00 FUNDING SOURCE: Upon budget amendment approval, funding is available in account number #20- 600 -5593 Agenda Item No.I ON \nDate 7/19/2012 210
