RESOLUTION NO. 2012- 19 5(o A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING A CONTRIBUTION OF FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500.00) TO AUTHOR MARTHA SACONCHIK-PYTEL TOWARD PUBLICATION COSTS OF HER BOOK ENTITLED "BAKER'S HAULOVER — A MARITIME TREASURE OF HISTORY AND PIONEERS"; FURTHER, AUTHORIZING IN- KIND SERVICES FOR A BOOK SIGNING EVENT IN THE CITY; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach has a tradition of participating and assisting in various programs of interest and benefit to its residents and visitors; and WHEREAS, Martha Saconchik-Pytel is the author of the soon to be published book entitled"Baker's Haulover—A Maritime Treasure of History and Pioneers"; and WHEREAS, the book preserves an early period of Miami's history and the legacy of this area of South Florida including Haulover and Sunny Isles Beach; and WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to support this endeavor by contributing Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) toward the publication costs of this book plus in-kind services for a book signing event in the City with the author Martha Saconchik-Pytel. NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA,AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Approval of Contribution. The City Commission hereby approves a contribution of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) to author Martha Saconchik-Pytel toward publication costs of her book plus in-kind services for a book signing event in the City of Sunny Isles Beach. Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Section 3. Effective Date.
