•
CITY OF HAWTHORNE
POLICE DEPARTMENT
To Whom It May Concern:
To say that I have been impressed by Iron Sky and its progressive staff would be
an understatement. There are not many companies that I would highly
recommend to any city seeking a technology project, but our experience with
Iron Sky and their responsiveness to our video surveillance project deserves this
recommendation.
The Hawthorne Police Department was experiencing a high number of calls for
service at Eucalyptus Park and we needed a technological solution to assist in
attacking the problem. Iron Sky laid out a plan to decrease crime in Eucalyptus
Park by installing interactive cameras to enable officers to watch what was
happening in real time from remote locations.
One of the challenges that prevented the City from installing cameras in the park
previously was the lack of network connectivity. Iron Sky designed a wireless
solution using mesh and point-to-point radio to transmit the camera images from
the park to our communications tower. Iron Sky coordinated efforts with the
South Bay Regional Public Communications Agency and the City's Parks
Department to ensure the installation went smoothly and conformed to the City's
standards.
I am extremely satisfied with the camera solution that Iron Sky installed and look
forward to expanding their solution to other parks. Please feel free to contact
me to discuss our project first hand.
Keith Kau •I man
Operations Captain
Ofc— 310-349-2802
kkauffman@ cityofhawthorne.org
12501 S.
