RESOLUTION NO. 2017- ZVI 3 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br /> SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, RATIFYING AN <br /> AGREEMENT WITH MIAMI-DADE COUNTY FOR TREE <br /> PLANTING AS PART OF A STREET TREE MATCHING GRANT <br /> PROGRAM, ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT"A"; <br /> AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS <br /> NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; <br /> PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, Miami-Dade County desires to increase the tree canopy in Miami-Dade <br /> County and to reach the Million Trees Miami goal of planting 1 million trees and a 30% tree <br /> canopy by 2020; and <br /> WHEREAS, Miami-Dade County has created a Street Tree Matching Grant Program for <br /> tree planting along County and local roads; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City applied for and received matching funds for tree planting in Sunny <br /> Isles Beach; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City now wishes to ratify an agreement with Miami-Dade County in an <br /> amount not to exceed Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00), attached hereto as Exhibit <br /> "A", for tree planting as part of a Street Tree Matching Grant Program. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br /> CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. Ratification of Agreement. The City Commission hereby ratifies the Agreement <br /> with Miami-Dade County in an amount not to exceed Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars <br /> ($25,000.00), attached hereto as Exhibit "A", for tree planting as part of a Street Tree Matching <br /> Grant Program. <br /> Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br /> things necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution. <br /> Section 3. Effective Date.
