C. The pressure reducing valve shall be as manufactured by Watts Regulator Co., <br /> Series No. 223 SHP. <br /> 2.11 STRAINERS <br /> A. Strainers shall be of the "Y" type and have bronze bodies with a removable <br /> bronze screen and shall be as manufactured by Watts Regulator Company, <br /> Lawrence, MA. <br /> 2.12 PRESSURE GAUGE <br /> A. Pressure gauge shall be direct mounted, cast aluminum case, with a minimum 3 <br /> 1/2-inch diameter dial and furnished with a clear glass crystal window, 1/4-inch <br /> shut-off valve, and a bronze pressure snubber. Gauges shall be weather proof. <br /> The face dial shall be white finished aluminum with jet black graduations and <br /> figures. The face dial shall indicate the units of pressure being measured (e.g., <br /> feet, inches, etc.) or be dual scale. <br /> B. Pressure gauge shall be as manufactured by H.O. Trerice Co., equal by <br /> Marshalltown. <br /> 2.13 SOLENOID VALVE <br /> A. Solenoid valve shall be normally closed. Solenoid valve shall include a manual <br /> override operator. Valves shall be of brass body construction, resilient seating, <br /> general purpose service Red-Hat type as manufactured by Automatic Switch Co. <br /> (ASCO), Florham Park, NJ or equal. <br /> B. Solenoid valve shall be suitable for operation on a 120 volt, 60 Hertz power <br /> supply unless otherwise shown on the Drawings and be provided in a NEMA 4, <br /> water-tight enclosure. <br /> 2.14 FLAP VALVE <br /> A. Flap valve body shall be cast iron per AWWA C508 having an integral flange. <br /> Seat and disc rings shall be bronze and locked in place with stainless steel lock <br /> screws and be field replaceable without special tools. <br /> B. Shaft shall be single and continuous stainless steel extending both sides of body. <br /> C. Valve flap shall be cast iron set at an angle to remain closed at all times unless <br /> pumped water is flowing. An eyelet shall be cast into the outside cover of the <br /> flap and located at its lower edge. <br /> PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> 3.01 INSTALLATION <br /> A. Valves and appurtenances shall be installed in the locations shown, true to <br /> alignment and rigidly supported. Any damage to the above items shall be <br /> repaired to the satisfaction of the Engineer before they are installed. <br /> 08/12 15100-6 11-4179 <br />
