<br />City of Sunny Isles Beach |Request for Proposal No. 12-05-01 17A <br /> <br /> <br />Section 3 <br />Scope of Services / Technical Specifications <br /> <br />3.1 SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach (the “City”) intends to secure the services of a qualified landscape <br />contractor for landscape maintenance services to be rendered throughout the City. It is the intent <br />of this proposal document that all work shall result in co mpliance with the specification documents <br />and all regulatory requirements applicable to such project. <br /> <br />The Work covered by the Specifications, Plans and other Contract Documents, shall be landscaping <br />services, including landscape, irrigation, public right-of-way maintenance, sidewalks, street <br />furniture, and facility maintenance as described in the Contract Documents. <br /> <br />The intent of the following descriptions in this RFP is to convey the requirement that the various <br />areas listed in this RFP shall be maintained to a superior level such that they are viewed by the <br />public as the best maintained and most beautiful in all of southern Florida. It is this standard that <br />will be required of the Proposers. <br /> <br />Any maintenance or repairs shall not be sub-contracted. Contractor shall have sufficient <br />labor, materials, tools, equipment, and qualified and certified supervision to adequately <br />maintain the City landscaping in accordance with this RFP. <br /> <br />3.2 MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC <br /> <br />This section is applicable to any task requested in this RFP that involves traffic of any kind. <br />Whenever work is being conducted in areas of traffic, the proposer shall include all appropriate <br />traffic control devices that conform to an approved Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plan. The co st of <br />the MOT shall be taken into consideration when and all traffic control costs shall be a part of the <br />unit price proposal and shall not be paid for separately. This shall apply throughout this entire RFP. <br /> <br />3.2.1 MOT OF RIGHT-OF-WAYS <br /> <br />Maintenance of Traffic shall be in accordance with the current edition of the Florida DOT <br />Design Standards (600 series), the Standard Specification for Road and Bridge <br />Construction, and the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, as a minimum criteria. <br />This note should be included under all proposal items that may include work on both <br />FDOT and all City roadways. All traffic control costs shall be a part of the unit price <br />proposal and shall not be paid for separately. <br /> <br />3.3 WEATHER AND ACTS OF NATURE <br /> <br />If weather or other acts of nature prevents the vendor from conducting the requested services or <br />maintenance on the day specified by the City or otherwise planned by the vendor, the vendor shall
