SECTION 01560 <br /> <br />TREE AND PLANT PROTECTION <br /> <br /> <br />PART 1 GENERAL <br /> <br />1.01 SUMMARY <br /> <br />A. Remove trees as noted in the Drawings. <br /> <br />B. Abide by requirements and conditions of the governing authority. <br /> <br />C. Assume full responsible for maintaining, in good condition, cultivated grass <br />plots, trees, and shrubs. <br /> <br />1. Where maintained shrubbery, grass strips or area must be removed or <br />destroyed incident to the construction operation, replace or restore to the <br />original condition destroyed or damaged shrubbery or grass areas. <br /> <br />2. Tree limbs which interfere with equipment operation and are approved for <br />pruning shall be neatly trimmed and the tree cut coated with a tree paint. <br /> <br />D. Grass areas shall be solid sodded with sod to match the existing grass and shall <br />first be leveled, and debris, rocks and other matter removed. <br /> <br />E. The sod shall be placed with closely abutting joints, and shall completely cover <br />the areas shown in the Drawings to be grassed. <br /> <br />1. The top of the new sod shall coincide with the top of pavement and <br />sidewalk, both existing and proposed. <br /> <br />2. The sod shall be covered with a light top dressing of topsoil and shall then <br />be thoroughly watered. <br /> <br />F. Weeded areas need not be replaced with grass sod, but shall be restored to a <br />“green” area by dressing the area with a layer of top soil, and sowing a variety of <br />permanent type grass seed, over the area as approved by the ENGINEER. <br /> <br />1.
