<br />C. All openings in precast structures shall be cast at the time of manufacture. <br />Holes for piping shall be six inches larger than the outside diameter of the <br />proposed pipe. All spaces between the manhole and the pipe shall be <br />completely filled with mortar and finished smooth. <br /> <br />D. Mortar used for concrete structures shall conform to M C-270. Mortar material <br />shall be mixed one part Type 2 Portland cement to two parts aggregate by <br />volume. Portland cement shall conform to ASTM C-144 and aggregate shall <br />conform to ASTM C-144. <br /> <br />E. The CONTRACTOR shall furnish the ENGINEER with shop drawings of all <br />precast structures for his approval prior to fabrication. Shop drawings shall <br />show all dimension, reinforcing steel and specifications. <br /> <br />F. Handling and Storing: Pipe shall be protected during shipping, storage and <br />handling against impact shocks, free fall or other damage. Any damaged pipe <br />shall be removed from the job site immediately. <br /> <br />2.05 GRATINGS <br /> <br />A. Iron frames, grates, and lids shall conform to ASTM A48 and shall be Class 30. <br />The castings shall be true to design, dimension, weight, and detail as shown on <br />the contract drawings. <br /> <br />2.06 PIPE TO MANHOLE CONNECTOR <br /> <br />A. Pipe to Manholes connectors shall be flexible and reliable to create a watertight <br />seal. <br /> <br />B. All connectors pipe clamps and stainless steel wedge expanders shall be <br />manufactured by Kor-n-Seal, or approved equal, and shall meet ASTM <br />specification standards for HDPE fusion welded pipe. <br /> <br />2.07 FORMS <br /> <br />A. Forms for cast in place headwalls or other concrete structures shall be wood or <br />metal, so designed and constructed that they may be removed without injury to <br />the concrete. They shall be built true to line and grade and braced in a <br />substantial and unyielding manner, and shall be approved by the ENGINEER <br />before being filled with concrete. <br /> <br />2.08 CONCRETE <br /> <br />A. Class I, concrete shall be used for headwalls, pipe, end walls, and other <br />miscellaneous concrete items.
