2. The interior concrete shall then be broken up, removed from the site and <br />disposed of properly. <br /> <br />B. Driveways and sidewalk crossing driveways, shall be replaced with a concrete <br />slab having a minimum thickness of 6 inches. <br /> <br />1. Steel reinforcement is not required unless the existing driveway (or sidewalk) <br />is so reinforced, in which case the replaced driveway shall also be reinforced <br />to match the existing. <br /> <br />C. Forms as are necessary shall be set up and the subgrade regarded for a slab 6 <br />inches thick. <br /> <br />1. The subgrade shall be thoroughly compacted and wet down prior to placing <br />the concrete. <br /> <br />2. The driveways and sidewalk concrete surface shall be given a surface and <br />edging finish to match, as nearly as possible, that of the existing driveway <br />and sidewalk. <br /> <br />3. The finish and edging shall be obtained through the use of screeds, trowels, <br />edgers, and any other tools normally required by the trade in performing this <br />kind of work. <br /> <br />D. Forms for driveways including those for expansion joints, shall be metal and <br />shall be clean and well oiled prior to placing concrete. <br /> <br />1. The forms shall be set in place far enough in advance of concrete placing for <br />the ENGINEER to check line and grade. <br /> <br />2. Abrupt changes in line and grade will not be permitted. <br /> <br />3. Forms shall be set to insure smooth curvature and alignment both vertically <br />and horizontally. <br /> <br />4. Forms shall be left in place for a minimum of 24 hours after concrete has <br />been placed. <br /> <br />E. Replacement driveways shall match the elevation and alignment of existing <br />driveways wherever a connection is made. <br /> <br />F. Replace driveways to match special concrete and other existing conditions. <br /> <br />1.
