  <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach | Invitation to Bid No. 17‐05‐01  17    <br />  <br />Section 2 <br />Special Terms and Conditions <br /> <br />2.1 PURPOSE OF BID: <br /> <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach (the “City”) intends to secure the services of a qualified, experienced <br />and licensed contractor(s) with a minimum of ten years experience to provide Landscape <br />Maintenance Services, in accordance with the terms, conditions and specifications contained in this <br />Invitation to Bid (ITB). It is the intent of this bid document that all work shall result in compliance <br />with the contract documents and all regulatory requirements applicable to such service. <br /> <br />2.2 PRE-BID CONFERENCE <br /> <br />A MANDATORY Pre-Bid Conference is scheduled for the time and location shown in the Notice to <br />Bidder. It is mandatory that all Bidders attend the pre-bid conference. Failure to attend the <br />mandatory pre-bid conference shall be cause for disqualification. No claim of ignorance by the <br />Bidder of conditions that exist, or that may hereinafter exist as a result of failure to make the <br />necessary examinations or investigations or failure to fulfill in every detail the requirements of the <br />contract documents, will be accepted as basis for varying the requirements of the City of Sunny <br />Isles Beach. Oral statements may not be relied upon and will not be binding or legally effective. <br />As such an addendum will be issued if any alterations are made to the specifications contained <br />herein. <br /> <br />2.3 TERM <br /> <br />This contract will commence upon execution by both parties which shall be the effective date <br />succeeding approval of the contract by the City Commission, or designee, unless otherwise <br />stipulated in the Notice of Award letter; and contingent upon the completion and submittal of all <br />required proposal documents. This contract shall remain in effect for one (1) year; provided that <br />the services rendered by the Bidder during the contract period are satisfactory. <br /> <br />2.4 OPTIONS TO RENEW <br /> <br />Prior to, or upon completion of that initial term, the City shall have the option at its sole discretion <br />to renew this contract for an additional four (4) one (1) year renewal terms. Prior to completion <br />of each exercised contract term, the City may consider an adjustment to price based on changes <br />in the following pricing index: Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers <br />(CPI-W): Miami-Fort Lauderdale, FL. <br /> <br />It is the Bidder’s responsibility to request any pricing adjustment under this provision, which shall <br />not exceed 5%. For any adjustment to commence on the first day of any exercised option period, <br />the Bidder’s request for adjustment shall be submitted no later than ninety (90) days prior to
