Russo, City Manager <br /> FROM: Robert Williamson, Public Works Superintendent <br /> DATE: 6/15/2017 <br /> Approval of an Interlocal Agreement Between All Co- <br /> RE: Permittees Names in National Pollutant Discharge <br /> Elimination System (NPDES) Permit No. FLS000003- <br /> 003 and Miami-Dade County. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff is recommending the City Commission approve the attached <br /> resolution. <br /> REASONS: <br /> The Environmental Protection Agency ("EPA") requires that <br /> subdivisions within the State of Florida, including County and <br /> municipalities, participate in a five-year operating permit for sampling, <br /> monitoring, and analysis of stormwater sewage systems throughout <br /> Miami-Dade County. <br /> The Interlocal Agreement between all co-permittees in National <br /> Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit No. <br /> FLS000003-003 and Miami-Dade County will provide for the <br /> performance of professional service by Miami-Dade County providing <br /> for identification and control of pollutant discharges in a shared <br /> municipal separate storm sewer systems. <br /> The Agreement shall become effective on October 1, 2017 and shall <br /> expire on September 30, 2022.
