• <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2017- 2-743 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br /> OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE <br /> EXPENDITURE OF BUDGETED FUNDS IN AN AMOUNT <br /> NOT TO EXCEED SIXTY-SEVEN THOUSAND THREE <br /> HUNDRED EIGHTY-FOUR DOLLARS AND NINE CENTS <br /> ($67,384.09), ON THE PURCHASE OF SOFTWARE <br /> LICENSING AND/OR PRODUCTS FROM SUPERION, LLC. <br /> FOR FISCAL YEAR 2017/2018 FOR POLICE SOFTWARE <br /> SYSTEM MAINTENANCE AND SUPPORT; AUTHORIZING <br /> THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO <br /> EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN <br /> EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, on May 18, 2006, via Resolution No. 2006-919 the City Commission <br /> approved an agreement with SunGard HTE, Inc. (SunGard) to obtain a perpetual, non-exclusive, <br /> nontransferable license for the use of certain computer software and related software technical <br /> support services to assist the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department in the implementation of the <br /> System; and <br /> WHEREAS, this state-of-the-art Police computer system provides the Police Department <br /> with a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System, Records Management System (RMS), Mobile <br /> Computing Terminals (MCT) and a Mobile Field Reporting (MFR) System; and <br /> WHEREAS, this proprietary software solution has proven to be the leader in public <br /> safety software in Miami-Dade County as well as many other cities and states throughout the <br /> country; and <br /> WHEREAS, SunGard HTE, Inc. (SunGard) has legally changed its corporate name to <br /> Superion, LLC.; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City desires to expend budgeted funds in an amount not to exceed Sixty- <br /> Seven Thousand Three Hundred Eighty-Four Dollars and Nine Cents ($67,384.09) to allow staff <br /> to contract with Superion, LLC. for Fiscal Year 2017/2018 for the annual software maintenance <br /> and support for these critical Police Department systems. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br /> CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. Approval of Expenditure. The City Commission hereby approves the expenditure <br /> of budgeted funds in an amount not to exceed Sixty-Seven Thousand Three Hundred Eighty- <br /> Four Dollars and Nine Cents ($67,384.09) to allow staff to contract with Superion, Inc. for Fiscal <br /> Year 2017/2018 for the Police Department Software System Maintenance and Support. <br /> Section 2. Authorization of City Manager.
