<br /> Agreement with Smartlink, Inc.,for the purchase of(2)
<br /> RE: informational touchscreen kiosks and software services
<br /> at strategic sites throughout the City.
<br /> • RECOMMENDATION:
<br /> It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached
<br /> resolution approving the agreement with Smartlink, Inc., in an amount
<br /> not to exceed $133,460 for the purchase, installation and maintenance
<br /> of(2)informational touchscreen kiosks and software services.
<br /> REASONS:
<br /> On April 24, 2017, the City issued RFP-17-04-01 for the purchase,
<br /> installation and maintenance of (2) informational touchscreen kiosks
<br /> and software services. The services include a 1 year warranty, with a
<br /> 5 year r extended warranty. The contract term is for one (1) year. The
<br /> City, at its sole option, may renew the contract for three (3) one-year
<br /> renewal terms. The total first year cost shall not exceed $133,460,
<br /> including two 75" kiosks, installation, software, professional services
<br /> and maintenance. The total 5 year cost of the contract, including
<br /> maintenance is $172,500. We are also including a 10% contingency
<br /> amount, for a total contract amount not exceed $189,750.
<br /> The City received a total of 5 responses; the City selected SmartLink
<br /> because they offer a more versatile multipurpose kiosk, in addition to a
<br /> revenue component [Small Cell earnings from Cell Providers (AT&T,
<br /> Verizon,T-Mobile,etc.) with a potential of $7,000 - $15,000 per year].
<br /> After our request that vendors submit a revised proposal for 75"
<br /> screens, Smartlink was the second lowest bidder at $133,460;
<br /> however, due to the revenue component, Smartlink is the lowest
<br /> responsive, responsible proposer. Smartlink's payment schedule
<br /> includes a 50% up front down-payment and balance due on
<br /> installation and sign off.
<br /> ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
<br /> The purpose of these kiosks will be to provide information about
<br /> current and upcoming events, park locations, city shuttle services,
<br /> county bus services, provide directions, beach conditions, weather,
<br /> traffic, date, time and additional City facts that enhance the visitors
<br /> stay while in Sunny Isles Beach. The selected proposer shall be
<br /> responsible for installation, calibration, and testing the Kiosks and
<br /> insuring proper functionality prior to general public use.
