Towing or servicing of City vehides over 3 (three) tons shall be at the contract rates <br /> specified herein. Calls for towing City vehides and buses shall be responded to within thirty <br /> ® minutes and subject to the performance fee mentioned below. <br /> • 3.4 DROP FEES& CITY'S RIGHT TO CANCEL TOWS OR ORDER RELEASE OF VEHICLE <br /> • Drop fees occur when a vehide owner arrives on the scene of a tow and the vehide has been <br /> engaged(hooked) by the tow truck, but the tow truck has not left the scene. Although Florida law <br /> allows towing companies to assess a drop fee(of not more than 50%of the posted towing rates), <br /> the City's towing companies have agreed to voluntarily waive all drop fees. The same <br /> identification that is required to retrieve vehide from a tow facility is required for drop fees to be <br /> waived. <br /> Contract Manager or designee reserves the right to cancel a tow on the scene before vehicle is <br /> attached to wrecker. Contract Manager or designee also reserves the right to order the release of <br /> an already impounded vehide. <br /> 3.5 RESPONSE TIME <br /> ® The awarded Bidder shall arrive at the site within thirty(30)minutes(for Emergency),and forty-five <br /> ® (45) minutes (for non-emergency) calls. Proposer shall assess the call for service immediately, if <br /> the proposer is unable to meet their obligation within the thirty-minute time limit, the proposer <br /> shall immediately call the requesting department back and notify them that they cannot respond <br /> in a timely manner. The proposer shall call designated City-approved subcontractor to respond to <br /> the City's call.Subsequently, the City representative making the tow request shall be appropriately <br /> notified of the call's successful hand-off to subcontractor. <br /> •® 3.6 PERFORMANCE FEE <br /> ® The Performance fee will insure that the Contractor provides prompt response to City's <br /> requests to tow vehicles and provide the services herein agreed to.
