<br />City of Sunny Isles Beach |Request for Qualifications No. 17-12-01 9 <br /> <br /> Section 2 <br /> Special Terms and Conditions <br /> <br />2.1 PURPOSE FOR REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATION: <br /> <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida (the “City”) a municipality located on a barrier island in <br />Northeast Miami-Dade County, Florida, seeks to secure a contract with a licensed firm (“Firm”) to <br />provide professional architectural design services for construction projects to existing municipal <br />buildings. Pursuant to Section 287.055, Florida Statutes, the City is requesting qualifications from <br />experienced firms to provide professional architectural services for Gateway Park located at 151 <br />Sunny Isles Blvd, Sunny Isles Beach, FL 33160 and for the lobby of Government Center, 18070 <br />Collins Avenue Sunny Isles Beach, FL 33160. <br /> <br />Pricing is not submitted as a part of this evaluation process for submitted qualification proposals. <br />Award will be based on the criteria set forth herein to the most qualified firms as indicated by the <br />Statement of Work, herein. Professional architectural services are requested to produce all design <br />and construction documents necessary to bid, permit and construct renovations to these municipal <br />buildings. The Gateway Park renovations is intended to result in a Community Center, the indoor <br />facility will include but not limited to office space, reception area, multi-purpose rooms that can <br />accommodate classes, meetings, banquets, an indoor stage, a catering kitchen, arts & crafts space, <br />restrooms, and storage area, within an totaling approximately 17,420.00 square feet (Area A), <br />attached herein exhibit A. In addition, Gateway Park will include a finishing of concrete slab (Area <br />B) totaling approximately 10,000 square feet (exhibit A). The Government Center Lobby interior <br />renovations (including the Visitor Center) is approximately 3,000 sq. ft. <br /> <br />The City is interested in architectural and interior design services, site planning services, feasibility <br />study services, programming, cost projections, and other professional services for a Community <br />Center space buildout and Government Center lobby redesign that would be appropriate for the <br />community, given the world-class reputation, tradition and history of the City. The objective is to <br />design a recreational facility and a lobby that is aesthetically pleasing, utilizes space and resources <br />efficiently, is economically sustainable, and provides a welcoming public atmosphere for City <br />residents and guests. <br /> <br />2.2 PRE-QUALIFICATION CONFERENCE <br /> <br />A Non-Mandatory meeting will be held on 12/21/2017 at 2:00 PM, First Floor Conference Room at <br />the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Government Center located at 18070 Collins Avenue, Sunny Isles <br />Beach, Florida 33160. Please make accommodations to travel to Gateway Park as part of the <br />conference. No claim of ignorance by the Bidder of conditions that exist, or that may hereinafter <br />exist as a result of failure to make the necessary examinations or investigations or failure to fulfill <br />in every detail the requirements of the contract documents, will be accepted as basis for varying <br />the requirements of the City of Sunny Isles Beach. Oral statements may not be relied upon and <br />will not be binding or legally effective. As such an addendum will be issued if any alterations are <br />made to the specifications contained herein.
