Russo, City Manager <br /> 1 FROM: Sylvia Flores, Director of Cultural&Community <br /> Services <br /> DATE: 12/21/2017 <br /> RE: Spending Authority with City of Hialeah for Transit Bus <br /> Maintenance and Repair <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> This resolution is presented for your consideration. <br /> REASONS: <br /> The City owns and operates 6 shuttle buses. Preventive maintenance <br /> and ongoing repair is necessary to keep the shuttle bus system <br /> running effectively and efficiently. Because the City received funding <br /> from Miami Dade County, as well as a grant, we must comply with <br /> federal guidelines with regard to the vendors used for maintenance <br /> and repairs (to ensure safety and security). The City of Hialeah meets <br /> all of these requirements, and can meet our maintenance needs. <br /> Therefore, we entered into an interlocal agreement with the City of <br /> Hialeah in May of 2016 to provide all of these services.
