Jerry Bentrott,Assistant City Manager (772)344-4042 Public outreach meetings to determine the building amenities and uses were part of Song I +Associates'scope and a charette meeting with the citizens of the City of Port St.Lucie was SERVICES PROVIDED: held to determine building programs.Residents placed their votes at the workshop for their Architectural&Interior Design most desired elements.Based on the public input and a needs study,amenities included:a Site Plan Approval 14,000 SF banquet hall with full service commercial kitchen;2,300 SF multi-purpose/game I Programming Construction Administration room; 12,400 SF gymnasium with basketball court; 4,500 SF fitness center; 4 racquetball courts;6,000 sf conference rooms;gallery; pre-school room;and an indoor cafe. PROJECT SIZE: The new Civic Center is located lakeside and an outdoor patio with a seating area and gazebo I 100,000 GSF overlooks the lake.The Civic Center,located in the heart of east Port St.Lucie,has a 30,000 SF plaza with an interactive fountain in the front. CONSTRUCTION COST: $30,600,000 Song+Associates also designed the streetscape leading to the Civic Center and a parking I garage accommodating 800 vehicles which supports this facility and other urban uses for the CONSTRUCTION COMPLETION: surrounding area.The parking garage was intentionally oversized to allow for and encourage December 2008 private development. 1 AWARD: The following team members worked on this project: Southeast Construction Architect:Song+Associates Best of 2009 Award of Excellence I I SONG +ASSOCIATES 54 I
