RESOLUTION NO.2017- 211 � <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH <br />AMERICAN RAMP COMPANY FOR THE DESIGN/BUILD OF A <br />REGIONAL HYBRID SKATE PARK AND PUMPTRACK AT <br />HAULOVER PARK, ATTACHED HERETO, IN SUBSTANTIALLY <br />THE SAME FORM, AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT; AUTHORIZING <br />THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO <br />EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the skate park that was formerly located at Town Center Park permanently <br />closed the on June 12, 2016; and <br />WHEREAS, since then it has been one of the City Commission's goals to secure a more <br />suitable location for a skate park; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach ("City"), in partnership with the Village of Bal <br />Harbour, the Town of Bay Harbor Islands, the Town of Surfside, the City of Miami Beach, and <br />Miami -Dade County, desire to build a regional hybrid skate park and pumptrack at Haulover Park <br />for the benefit of our collective residents and visitors; and <br />WHEREAS, the City is now in need of a contractor for the planning, design, and <br />installation of a regional hybrid skate park and pumptrack; and <br />WHEREAS, the National Joint Powers Alliance ("NJPA"), a governmental purchasing <br />consortium, awarded Request for Proposal No. 030117 to American Ramp Company and the City <br />has the desire to enter into a contract with said company; and <br />WHEREAS, American Ramp Company is qualified, willing and able to provide the <br />desired services to the City pursuant to the pricing terms and conditions offered to the NJPA, via <br />Contract No. 030117-ARC; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the City's procurement code provisions, purchases made under <br />state, county or other governmental contracts, or competitive bids with other governmental <br />agencies are exempt from the City's competitive bidding procedures; and <br />WHEREAS, the City now wishes to enter into an agreement with American Ramp. <br />Company for the design/build of a regional hybrid skate park and pumptrack at Haulover Park, in <br />an amount not to exceed Two Hundred Seventy -Six Thousand Seven Hundred Thirty -Three <br />Dollars and Thirteen Cents ($276,733.13), attached hereto, in substantially the same form, as <br />Exhibit "A" <br />2017- Interlocal Agmt w NIDC for Skate Park at Haulover Page 1 of 2 <br />
