<br />City of Sunny Isles Beach |Request for Qualifications No. 18-02-01 9 <br /> <br />Section 2 <br />Special Terms and Conditions <br /> <br />2.1 PURPOSE OF REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS: <br /> <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, (the “City”) a municipality located on a barrier island in <br />Northeast Miami-Dade County, Florida, seeks to secure a contract with a professional firm (“Firm”) <br />to provide on-going consultation for marine, coastal engineering and critically eroded coastal <br />assessment mitigation services. The services include but are not limited to: cost- effective long- <br />term solutions as to beach erosion, engineering and technical support, field studies and coastal <br />surveying, identification of erosion and flooding vulnerable areas and effective risk mapping , <br />shoreline stabilization solutions, erosion control line, seawall and riprap design and implementation, <br />coastal and inlet structures, obtaining Local/State and Federal Grants, FDEP process & consultation, <br />and engineering designs and reviews for construction projects on an as-needed basis. <br /> <br />The firm shall have a profound understanding of the documentation involved for federal <br />reimbursement and assistance with obtaining federal, state and county permits. The prospective <br />firm certifies, by submission of this proposal, that neither it nor its principals is presently debarred, <br />suspended, proposed for debarment, declared ineligible, or voluntarily excluded from participating <br />in covered transactions by any Federal department or agency. <br /> <br />2.2 PRE-QUALIFICATION CONFERENCE <br /> <br />Intentionally Omitted <br /> <br />2.3 TERM OF CONTRACT <br /> <br />This contract will commence upon execution by both parties which shall be the effective date <br />succeeding approval of the contract by the City Commission, or designee, unless otherwise <br />stipulated in the Notice of Proceed letter. The contract shall be contingent upon the completion <br />and submittal of all required documents. However, in the event funding is not appropriated on an <br />annual basis during any particular year within the contract period, the contract may be canceled <br />upon thirty (30) days written notice to Firm. In such an event, the City shall only be responsible <br />for the reasonable value of services performed prior to the effective date of termination . <br /> <br />2.4 OPTIONS TO RENEW <br /> <br />The initial contract term shall be for two (2) years. The City, at its sole option, may renew the <br />contract for three (3) one-year renewal terms. Exercising the option to renew is at the sole <br />discretion of the City. <br /> <br />2.5 METHOD OF AWARD <br /> <br />Reference Section 4 <br /> <br />
