Grandinetti, Police Captain <br /> DATE: 12/20/2012 <br /> RE: Approval to enter into an agreement with Iron Sky, Inc. to install and <br /> maintain an Automatic License Plate Recognition System (ALPR), in an <br /> amount not to exceed $207,117.15 <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution authorizing <br /> the Mayor to enter into an agreement with Iron Sky, Inc. to install and maintain a <br /> citywide Automatic License Plate Recognition System (ALPR). <br /> REASONS: <br /> The installation of citywide Automatic License Plate Recognition System (ALPR) <br /> would provide a perimeter around the entire city, alerting on-duty police officers <br /> and the communications center of any Stolen Vehicle, Amber Alerts, Silver <br /> Alerts, Felony Vehicles and many other alerts instantly as the vehicle enters our <br /> jurisdiction. <br /> ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: <br /> The Sunny Isles Beach Purchasing Department issued RFP# 12-09-01 and <br /> received three responses. After review, staff has deemed Iron Sky, Inc. as the <br /> lowest responsive, responsible bidder.
