CGA staff began by performing an assessment of the Town’s seawalls, ultimately recommending their replacement due to severe degradation. A solution for replacing the seawalls was engineered to maximize the serviceable life of the proposed seawalls. A benthic analysis was conducted on the seawalls and immediate submerged lands as part of the permit application process. Permits were obtained from FDEP, USCOE and DRER (formerly DERM). Funding to replace the seawalls was solicited and the project was awarded a $494,000 grant from the Florida Inland Navigation District (FIND). After obtaining the grant, CGA staff helped to administer and maintain it throughout the duration of the project.CGA provided construction management services through the preparation of contract documents, utility coordination, and inspections. The project has been awarded and began construction in March 2015.
