BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost) <br />The residential developments within the Flamingo <br />Gardens master drainage basin have a history of <br />flooding problems. The 135-acre drainage basin is <br />served by a master drainage system consisting of <br />interconnected lakes, swales, and stormwater <br />conveyance systems. CGA has performed the drainage <br />study to determine the probable cause of flooding and <br />to evaluate potential drainage improvements. Upon <br />extensive research on historical plans, design, permits, <br />field investigation, and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, <br />CGA has identified the deficiencies within the master <br />drainage system including insufficient storage volume <br />and extremely undersized lake-interconnect pipes. <br />In order to increase the flood protection level of service <br />(LOS) for the area, CGA has recommended drainage <br />improvements work including replacement of <br />undersized culverts, and expansion of existing lakes. <br />The estimated construction cost for recommended <br />improvements is $1.6 million. <br />25.
