City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida
Marine and Coastal Professional Engineering Consulting Services (CCNA) | RFQ No. 18‐02‐01

Aptim Environmental & Infrastructure, Inc.
26
01C032018D

Survey
Our highly trained and licensed team of surveyors performs topographic and hydrographic surveys using
the latest technology and techniques. The incorporation of cutting edge technologies, such as Real Time
Kinematic Global Positioning Systems (RTK GPS) and Dynamic Motion Sensors, provides for the highest
level of confidence in all aspects of the data collection. RTK GPS is capable of collecting centimeter scale
elevations onshore and highly accurate positions and tidal data at sea. The further integration of motion
sensors on the survey vessel delivers highly precise data, which meets or exceeds USACE and
International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) accuracy standards. Our high quality offshore data is easily
merged with topographic data, which is critical for beach profile measurement. Our survey team can
produce seamless beach profiles. The tools and techniques we have developed provide our clients with
the most accurate morphological data leading to the best coastal management decisions.
We also use multibeam sonars and 3D scanning sonars when a complete depiction of the seafloor is
needed to support a project. APTIM has collected thousands of miles of multibeam data throughout the
southeastern United States. Our surveyors utilize several GPS systems and Inertial Measurement Units to
collect the most accurate data possible. The powerful computer systems onboard the survey vessels
allow for real time monitoring of the survey data to ensure one hundred percent coverage and data
integrity. 3D Sonars are also uniquely suited for underwater infrastructure inspection and imaging
without the cost of divers and without having to put a person in harm’s way.
GIS/CAD
Our GIS/CAD department provides state‐of‐the‐art engineering drawings and mapping services in
compliance with local, state and federal resource protection and management agency directives. Our
team is experienced with the suite of ESRI’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS) products and
supporting software applications including Oracle, MS SQL, Javascript API, Visual Studio, Silverlight, FLEX,
SDE, .NET, Access and Microsoft sync technology for wireless field synchronization.
Our GIS professionals are responsible for providing a wide range of information management services and
product support. This service includes GIS design and deployment, website development, database
design, mobile data collection support, document and record management, as well as custom workflow
analysis and design. Our experienced professionals possess a broad range of experience with geospatial
and information management technologies and a multitude of standard application development
languages and tools. Our GIS and Mapping professionals regularly coordinate with our clients, agencies
and other stakeholders to ensure seamless data integration for upload/populating into existing
databases. Our engineers are hands‐on AutoCAD users and utilize the software throughout the design
process. This streamlines engineering plans and document preparation, as these engineering design CAD
files are submitted directly to our CAD professionals for final document development and QA/QC review.
Environmental Engineering
APTIM and its legacy companies have been providing contamination assessment and remediation services
to the Miami‐Dade County area since the 1980s. As a nationwide leader in the environmental services
industry, APTIM has used technologies innovatively to benefit our customers. The diversity of projects
executed by APTIM for state and local clients is extensive. Our depth of technical resources allows us to
handle any request. Regardless of complexity, size, schedule, site limitations, contaminant characteristics,
regulatory limitations, or unique requirements. Our environmental engineering department is dedicated
to meeting the needs of the state and local agencies, and stands ready to provide expertise in a wide
array of technical services. We have addressed legacy contamination issues and performed site
assessments, immediate responses, and hazardous material removal. Our staff has provided subject
