<br />City of Sunny Isles Beach | ITB 18-03-03 Right-of-Ways and Facilities Landscape Maintenance Services 60 <br /> <br />No fuels, oils, solvents, or similar materials are to be disposed of in any catch basins. The Contractor <br />must closely adhere to Federal Environmental Protection Agency requirements, and is responsible for <br />all non-compliance penalties. <br /> <br />3.18 BUS SHELTER & BENCH LOCATIONS <br /> <br />The Contractor shall provide a well maintained, safe, clean, and attractive bus shelter and bench <br />locations at all times keeping all benches, trash receptacles, concrete pads, pavers, shelters and <br />surrounding areas clean and free of all foreign debris, mineral deposits, graffiti, trash, litter, cigarette <br />butts, newspapers, gum, food, cups, stickers, posters, stains, spills, spotting, weeds, overhanging <br />trees, bees, insects, spider webs, etc. This includes cleaning the glass panels of all bus shelters so <br />that it is clean and free from mineral deposits. All bus shelters or benches shall be cleaned and wiped <br />down once per month or more often as needed. All areas shall be patrolled and maintained 7 days <br />a week, including all weekends and holidays. All trash receptacles shall be emptied on a daily basis, <br />seven days a week including all weekends and holidays. <br /> <br />The Contractor shall conduct a visual check of each area and immediately report to the Project <br />Manager(s) items needing special repair or attention including bus shelter damage and missing signs. <br /> <br />There are (3) extra-large, (35) large, (8) small bus shelters located throughout the City. The <br />quantities are subject to change during the term of the Contract and the contract cost will change <br />accordingly, based on unit prices. <br /> <br />3.19 GRAFFITI REMOVAL <br /> <br /> The Contractor shall advise City for authorization/ pre-pre-approval before commencing graffiti <br />removal. The Contractor may provide graffiti removal from all site furnishings, retaining walls, utility <br />boxes and vaults, barrier wall of William Lehman Causeway and Sunny Isles Blvd. Causeway. The <br />Contractor shall assess each surface for the most efficient and effective method of removal with the <br />least impact to the structure and the environment. Methods shall include wipe -off with solvent, <br />commercial self-contained power washing and/or paint-over with closely matched paint with paint <br />sprayer or roller, as directed by the City. The removal of graffiti shall receive high priority and should <br />be addressed within one business day of notice of work to be performed and the work must proceed <br />continuously and expeditiously until the work is complete. The Contractor is responsible for <br />immediately notifying the City of any graffiti found during the regular servicing and inspection of the <br />City. Graffiti removal shall include the barrier walls of the William Lehman Causeway and Sunny Isles <br />Blvd. Causeway. Graffiti removal is on an as needed basis and will be considered a “Supplemental <br />Service.” <br /> <br />3.20 LITTER/DEBRIS REMOVAL <br />Litter removal is performed for aesthetic and safety reasons. It is desired to present a pleasing <br />appearance and environment to the patrons of our parks, beach as well as to motoring and pedest rian <br />traffic within the City, but it is more important to provide safety. Litter in the parks and adjacent <br />swale areas, roadways, cul-de-sacs, landscaped areas and swales is to be removed prior to mowing <br />or edging in order to reduce the possibility of hazards to those using the parks, motorists, pedestrians,
