<br /> must replace such damage, including, but not limited to, re-sodding, replacement
<br /> of trees, palms, shrubs, groundcover, etc.
<br /> Whitefly shall be controlled on all trees, palms, shrubs and groundcover and
<br /> Contractor shall develop preventive-measures in the pest management plan.
<br /> Contractor is responsible to monitor infestations during the daily servicing and
<br /> inspection of the site(s).
<br /> 3.8.7 SPECIALTY PALM/TREE CARE
<br /> Specialty palms such as Dates Palms, Royal Palms, Bismark Palms and other
<br /> specialty foliage shall be treated with preventive chemicals per each individual
<br /> need to properly maintain them. This includes pest infestation, fungicides and
<br /> deficiencies. Any specialty palm or other trees damaged due to over/under
<br /> treatment shall be the responsibility of the Contractor and all damaged material
<br /> shall be replaced within one (1) week of the damage being noticed, at the
<br /> Contractor's expense, at no cost to the City. Aerial spraying on top of palms must
<br /> occur on weekdays between the hours of 1:00 AM and 3:00 AM. Avoid spraying
<br /> when residents are active. The following outlines a minimum of applications.
<br /> Insect Control: In January, April, August and November, inspect terminal bud
<br /> of all palms for signs of boring/chewing insects. If evidence of
<br /> a nest is discovered, drench terminal bud with Orthene, Cygon
<br /> or Lindane six times per year or as needed to control insect
<br /> infestation (Lindane is to be used in limited amounts and only if
<br /> evidence of beetles is present). The applications assume a
<br /> continuing boring insect presence on site.
<br /> OTC Injections: Upon evidence of LY (lethal yellowing) or TPPD (Texas Phoenix
<br /> Palm Decline) inform the City immediately and upon approval
<br /> by the City, begin injections per label rate, per palm, of OTC
<br /> tree injection formula (Tree Saver Inc. or equal). Follow
<br /> manufacturer's recommendations re: injection method and
<br /> frequency. OTC injections are on an"As Needed"basis and will
<br /> be considered a"Supplemental Service."
<br /> Date Palms (Phoenix dactvlifera, Phoenix canariensis & Phoenix sylvestris):
<br /> Date Palm pest control contractor must be a State of Florida licensed pest control
<br /> operator with a minimum of five years of experience in this type of work with Date
<br /> Palms in South Florida.
<br /> Disease Control: Three times per year all Date Palms will be treated with a
<br /> systematic fungicide(s). These applications will be performed as
<br /> a root/soil drench during the months of March/April,
<br /> July/August,and November/December and are considered to be
<br /> preventive maintenance. Contractor is responsible to follow
