RESOLUTION NO. 2018 - <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br /> SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, RATIFYING AN AGREEMENT <br /> WITH O. HALIGON FINE ART STUDIO, INC. FOR THE <br /> RESTORATION,REPAIR,AND INSTALLATION OF THE"RISING <br /> HORIZONS" SCULPTURE LOCATED AT TOWN CENTER PARK, <br /> IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIFTY-SEVEN THOUSAND <br /> DOLLARS ($57,000.00), ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; <br /> AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS <br /> NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING <br /> FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, on February 16, 2006 via Resolution No. 2006-893 the City Commission <br /> commissioned the services of Rafael Barrios("Artist")for the design,delivery,and installation of an <br /> artistic monument in the amount of$160,000.00; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Artist created the sculpture known as"Rising Horizons"which is located at <br /> Town Center Park; and <br /> WHEREAS, the sculpture was in need of restoration and repairs; and <br /> WHEREAS, O. Haligon Fine Art Studio, Inc. ("Contractor"), has the experience and <br /> expressed the ability and desire to perform the services more specifically described in Attachment <br /> WHEREAS,in order to expedite the restoration of the sculpture,the City Manager executed <br /> an agreement with the Contractor, attached hereto as Exhibit "A"; and <br /> WHEREAS,the City Commission now wishes to ratify the agreement with O.Haligon Fine <br /> Art Studio, Inc. for the restoration, repair, and installation of the"Rising Horizons"sculpture, in an <br /> amount not to exceed Fifty-Seven Thousand Dollars ($57,000.00), which includes a contingency <br /> amount not to exceed One Thousand Two Hundred Dollars($1,200.00) for consultation services in <br /> the event of a hurricane or severe weather, attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br /> CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. Ratification of Agreement. The City Commission hereby ratifies the agreement with O. <br /> Haligon Fine Art Studio, Inc. for the restoration, repair, and installation of the "Rising Horizons" <br /> sculpture, in an amount not to exceed Fifty-Seven Thousand Dollars($57,000.00),which includes a <br /> contingency amount not to exceed One Thousand Two Hundred Dollars($1,200.00)for consultation <br /> services in the event of a hurricane or severe weather, attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br /> Section 2. Authorization of City Manager.
