Haligon Fine Art <br /> RE: Studio Inc. in the Amount of$55,800,with contingency <br /> amount of$1,200. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> This resolution is presented for your consideration. <br /> REASONS: <br /> During Hurricane Irma, the artwork, Rising Horizons by Rafael Barrios, <br /> located at Town Center Park, was damaged. The City contacted the <br /> vendor, O. Haligon Fine Art Studio, Inc., who built the original <br /> sculpture based on the artist's specifications, and they came to assess <br /> the damage. They found that the artwork was damaged beyond repair, <br /> and would need to be rebuilt. <br /> O. Haligon Fine Art-Studio, Inc. has provided a quote for $53,000 to <br /> rebuild the artwork, and has proposed an additional $2,800 annually, <br /> to provide quarterly maintenance, to ensure longevity of the piece. <br /> Based on the artistic nature of this work and their previous experience <br /> with the sculpture, O. Haligon Fine Art Studio Inc. is recommended to <br /> do this work. The City Manager approved entering into the contract <br /> with O. Haligon for these funds, and this resolution is to ratify that <br /> expenditure. <br /> ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: <br /> The City contacted other vendors to research the viability of multiple <br /> quotes, and was able to coordinate visits with two vendors. One was <br /> not interested in pursuing the project due to the size and scope, and <br /> the other was only able to provide a rough estimate for the project, <br /> which was still higher than that provided by O.
