Grout <br />Section 01000 Part 1.5 subpart <br />H. Grout 20-lnch Liner: Following liner placement, CONTRACTOR to grout the <br />annular space between the 20-inch diameter liner and the existing 24-inch <br />diameter well casing with neat cement using the "tremie" method. <br /> <br />Section 03400-Part 3.1 subpart F <br />F. During grouting, the casing is to be filled with water and pressurized to 60 <br />pounds per square inch (psi). This pressure shall be maintained during cement <br />emplacement and the cement set up period for 8 hours following the grout stage <br />completion. Clear water shall be circulated within the casing from bottom to top to <br />cool the casing during the set-up period. <br /> <br />If tremie pipe method will be used to grout the liner casing. Can a K- Packer be <br />used with a minimum of two grout lifts? Also, if cool water is to be introduced into <br />the liner to avoid excessive heat it will not be possible to pressurize the well to <br />60PSI. Please confirm final line casing size. <br /> <br />Response: K-packer can be used with a minimum of two lifts. Final liner size <br />is 18-inch in lieu of the 20-inch diameter. <br /> <br />7. Grout <br />Section 03400 Part 1.2 <br />B. Provide bulk cement units weight tickets for verification of cement quantities <br />pumped. <br /> <br />Section 03400 Part 2.1 <br />B. Ready-mixed cement will not be allowed for this project unless otherwise <br />approved by the OWNER or ENGINEER. <br /> <br />Bulk weight tickets are provided by ready mix services. Please clarify if we are <br />able to use to use bulk mix cement? <br /> <br />Response: Contractor is allowed to use bulk mix cement. <br /> <br />8. Section 03200 <br /> <br />Section 1.2 Subpart B <br />B. Casing liner and dimensions are provided in the well construction specifications <br />or details. The well casing liner shall be at a minimum, poly vinyl chloride (PVC) <br />Schedule 40 where PVC casing liner is required. <br /> <br />
