GENERAL CONTRACTORS JOBSITE SCHEDULING CONTROL Project Planner, by Primavera software, is used for Hewett-Kier Construction, Inc's schedule presentation and control. Our scheduling activities for a project include Preliminary Schedules as well as the more traditional Critical Path Method of construction phase scheduling. Hewett-Kier Construction Inc. implements a series of scheduling activities which include the Preliminary Activities Schedule,the Master Project Schedule,Project Cash Flow Schedule, Early Start Schedule, Responsibility Schedule,Near Critical Activities Schedule and Three-week Lookahead Schedule. Ultimately,the detailed Critical Path Method Construction Schedule will incorporate all decisions and activities made during the early phases of the project and will be supplemented by additional tracking of shop drawings and s.mple submittals via our Submission and Material Control Schedule. Some features and advantages of our scheduling activities are described as follows. Preliminary Activities Schedule ® This schedule identifies the tasks required of the individual project team members and other consultants and agencies having impact on the related project It establishes the start and completion dates necessary to have an uninterrupted work flow relative to document development and timely incorporation of value engineering and constructability reviews into the process. Also, all issues relating to permits and approvals, financing requirements, long lead time items and special conditions or requirements of the Owner are addressed to ensure that the start date for construction is met. This schedule is used for the purposes: • As a planning tool to identify all tasks that must be accomplished in order for construction to begin. • As a means for identifying ways to reduce the pre-construction time. • As a way to tell project team members their responsibilities and the date they must be completed in order for construction to begin without delay. Master Milestone Schedule This schedule incorporates preliminary and construction phase scheduling activities into an overall view of the project based on major milestone events. This format provides an easily understood overview of progress of the project and is very useful as a management tool for Hewett-Kier Construction, Inc. and the Owner. It allows Hewett-Kier Construction, Inc. and its subcontractors to evaluate alternate schemes and approaches to determine their effect on the overall project duration.Also,on-going schedule analysis allows field management personnel to consider action that will benefit the project.
