Russo; City Manager <br /> • FROM: Mauricio Betancur, CMC, City Clerk <br /> DATE: 7/19/2018 <br /> Resolution Calling a General Election to be Held On <br /> Tuesday, November 6, 2018, and a Run-Off Election, if <br /> RE: Necessary, on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, and <br /> Designating a Registered Voter to Serve on the <br /> Canvassing Board <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached <br /> Resolution. <br /> REASONS: <br /> This Resolution provides the required details regarding the conduct of <br /> the upcoming General Election on November 6, 2018, and if <br /> necessary, a Run-Off Election on December 4, 2018, for the purpose <br /> of submitting"to the electorate the names of all qualified candidates for <br /> election to the positions of Mayor, City Commissioner, Seat 02 (North <br /> Central Area), and of City Commissioner; Seat 04 (South.Central <br /> Area). <br /> The Miami-Dade County :Supervisor of Elections and. her staff of <br /> Officials. are serving as the Canvassing Board for the-November 6, <br /> 2018. General Election: However, if a Run-Off Election is needed on <br /> December4, 2018, the City Commission must designate a registered <br /> voter to serve with the City Manager and the City Clerk as the City's <br /> Canvassing Board. Gloria Taft has served on the City's Canvassing <br /> Board for the previous elections and is willing and able to serve again. <br /> 53 <br />
