Russo, City Manager
FROM: Derrick Arias, CIO
DATE: 9/20/2018
Approving expenditure of budgeted funds in the amount
RE: of$70,753.32 with Superion for FY 2018-2019 for Police
software system maintenance.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached
resolution approving the expenditure of budged funds, in an amount
not to exceed $70,753.32, on the purchase of software licensing
and/or products from Superion.
REASONS:
The City entered into an agreement with Sungard in May 2006 (via
Resolution 2006-919) for the purchase of a state-of-the-art Police
computer system (called OSSI) that provides the Police Department
with a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System Records Management
System (RMS), Mobile Computing Terminals(MCT)and a Mobile Field
Reporting (MFR) System. This proprietary software solution has
proven to be the leader in public safety software in Miami-Dade
County as well as many other cities and states throughout the country.
This expenditure allows staff to contract with the vendor for the annual
software maintenance and support for these critical Police Department
systems.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
In April 2017, Sungard Public Sector changed it's corporate name to
Superion, LLC. Superion is also contracted by cities such as:
Aventura, North Miami Beach, Miami Gardens, Doral, Pinecrest,
Miami-Dade School Police, Broward Sheriffs Office.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding was budgeted and is available under the Information
Technology Budget,001-2-5160-434051-00000.
ATTACHMENTS:
Description
Resolution
Invoice
Item Number: 10.M.
https://sunnyisles.novusagenda.com/AgendaWeb/CoverSheet.aspx?ItemID=2416&MeetinglD=141 1/1
