3CES Consultants ● City of Sunny Isles Beach RFQ No. 18-11-01 <br />City Clerk <br />Sunny Isles Beach Government Center <br />18070 Collins Avenue, 4th Floor <br />Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160 <br />Subject: RFQ No. 18-11-01 // Consulting Engineering Services for Golden Shores Pump Station Rehabilitation (CCNA) <br />Dear Selection Committee Members: <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach Golden Shores Pump Station represents a comprehensively defined Flood Mitigation Project that has significantly <br />evolved as a result of advanced City leadership coupled by a sobering climatic impact awareness and an unflinching execution strategy to <br />deliver the necessary infrastructure that will sustain the vitality of this already vibrant community as well as the entire City of Sunny Isles Beach. <br />This multi-faceted project is a testament of the City’s continued commitment to improve and sustain the quality of life for the local Sunny Isles <br />Beach Community while spearheading practical advancements in Flood Control applications. <br />A local team that delivers. <br />This project requires a design team that can face head-on the challenges associated to a project of this caliber. A group of experienced local <br />coastal professionals that have worked collaboratively in the past and as such can forge their unique talents to deliver this project in a way <br />that exceeds Sunny Isles Beach’s expectations. A team that brings to the table a unique combination of historical knowledge in the planning, <br />permitting, design, risk management, and construction delivery of projects and that understand how to execute critical timelines of design <br />in the backdrop of residents and businesses who have a passionate commitment to a more beautiful and livable Sunny Isles Beach. A Design <br />team that can properly coordinate design with construction logistics with the commitments and timelines of fringing development projects in <br />the area and with a demonstrated track record of delivering designed projects in highly complex, highly frequented urban environments under <br />highly demanding timelines. That is the CES Design Team,. <br />The CES Design Team will be led by Fernando A. Vazquez, PE. Fernando has extensive experience in the planning, design and delivery of <br />large water sewer, and storm-water infrastructure projects for major water utilities. As the former City Engineer and Director of Capital <br />Improvements for the City of Miami Beach, Fernando brings a unique set of multi-level management skills to the City that covers a wide and <br />diverse portfolio of Neighborhood Improvement Projects with large size Pump Stations, including the first neighborhood projects to consider <br />significant vertical modification to mitigate tidal-influenced flooding <br />Our qualification submittal provides the material requested by your RFQ and establishes that our team meets and exceeds the minimum <br />requirements that you have established.
