RESOLUTION NO. 2013 - 2oN I <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE <br />PURCHASE OF SEVEN (7) POLICE VEHICLES, ONE (1) OCEAN <br />RESCUE VEHICLE AND ASSOCIATED EMERGENCY <br />EQUIPMENT AND LIGHTING, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO <br />EXCEED TWO HUNDRED EIGHTY -THREE THOUSAND SEVEN <br />HUNDRED SEVENTY -SIX DOLLARS (5283,776.00), ATTACHED <br />HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A'; AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO <br />EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department rotates a portion of the Police <br />fleet annually to assure the safety and reliability of its equipment to its officers; and <br />WHEREAS, the Police Department now needs to purchase the following seven (7) Police <br />vehicles and one (1) Ocean Rescue vehicle; four (4) V6 Dodge Chareer Police Vehicles from <br />Maroone of Pembroke Pines. three (3) V6 Dodge Durango Police Vehicles from Beck Auto <br />Sales; Inc.. under the Florida Sheriffs Association Contract 912 -20 -0905, one (1) Ford F -150 <br />Pick -Up Truck from Don Reid Ford, Inc. for Ocean Rescue Vehicle under the State of Florida <br />Contract 4071- 000 -13 -1, and all associated emergency equipment and lighting; in an amount not <br />to exceed Two Hundred Eighty -Three Thousand Seven Hundred Seventy -Six Dollars <br />(5283;776.00), attached hereto as Exhibit "A": and <br />WHEREAS, all emergency equipment and lighting will be purchased and installed by <br />Strobes -R -Us. Inc. under a piggy -back of the City of Sunrise, Contract 911(06)- 01- 01 -19 -W; and <br />WHEREAS, staff determined that the above charges were reasonable and customary for <br />said purchase and recommends that the Commission approve the purchase. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Authorizing the Purchase of Vehicles. The City Commission hereby authorizes <br />the purchase of seven (7) Police vehicles, one (1) Ocean Rescue vehicle, and associated <br />emergency equipment and lighting. in an amount not to exceed Two Hundred Eighty -Three <br />Thousand Seven Hundred Seventy -Six Dollars (5283,776.00), Attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br />Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br />things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. <br />Section 3. Effective Date.
