HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2013-2078 RESOLUTION NO. 2013- 2.078 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING BUDGET AMENDMENT NO. BA1213-017 TO FISCAL YEAR 2012/2013 BUDGET TO THE GENERAL FUND (10) WHICH INCLUDES A REDUCTION IN THE CONTINGENCY FUND BY FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($15,000.00) AND AN INCREASE TO CITY COMMISSION DONATIONS TO FUND A DONATION TO FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY'S (FIU) SCHOOL OF MUSIC AND TO ENSURE BUDGETARY COMPLIANCE; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission has directed staff to provide for new and/or additional goods and services that were not contemplated in the approved Fiscal Year 2012/2013 Budget; and WHEREAS, additional services requires certain budget amendments to the Fiscal Year 2012/2013 Budget. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Approval of Budget Amendment. The City Commission hereby approves Budget Amendment No. BA1213-017, for Fiscal Year 2012/2013 adopted budget for the following Major Amendment: General Fund (10) Increase the City Commission Donations Expenditures account by $15,000.00. Decrease the Contingency Fund account by $15,000.00. Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption. ■ PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of June 2013. // / Norman S. Russo, City Manager FROM: Minal Shah, Finance Director DATE: 6/20/2013 RE: Budget Transfer to fund a donation to FIU's School of Music. RECOMMENDATION: Staff is recommending adopting the Resolution approving the budget transfer to donate funds to the FIU's School of Music. REASONS: This Budget Transfer will decrease Contingency by $15,000 and the City Commission's Donations expenditure account will increase by $15,000. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: LPLA, Partners provided $15,000 to the City in exchange for access through the City parking lot located along 175th Terrace.
