HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2013-2118 RESOLUTION NO. 2013-a 118 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA,; APPROVING A CONCEPTUAL DESIGN TO PARTIALLY CONVERT THE WASTEWATER FACILITY LOCATED AT 350 SUNNY ISLES BOULEVARD TO A PARK-LIKE SETTING; PROVIDING THE CITY MANAGER WITH THE AUTHORITY TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Miami-Dade County has leased the City the waste water facility on Sunny Isles Boulevard for beautification purposes;'and WHEREAS, the developer of 400 Sunny Isles Boulevard is required to pay for the expenses to create a park-like setting at the wastewater facility site; and WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to approve a conceptual design to convert the wastewater facility to a park like setting. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA,AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Approval of the Conceptual Design. The City Commission hereby approves the conceptual design to partially convert the wastewater facility site located at 350 Sunny Isles Boulevard to a park-like setting attached hereto as Exhibit"A". Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Section 3. Effective Date. Russo, City Manager DATE: 9/19/2013 RE: Approving a Conceptual Park Design for the WASA Property Located at 350 Sunny Isles Boulevard • RECOMMENDATION: This resolution is presented for your consideration. REASONS: The City would like to convert the WASA property located at 350 Sunny Isles Boulevard to a park-like setting. The property is owned by Miami-Dade County's Water and Sewer Department but has leased it to the City for beautification purposes. FUNDING SOURCE: The developer of 400 Sunny Isles Boulevard has offered to pay for the conversion of the facility to a park-like setting.
