A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, RATIFYING THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2)
FORD F150 4X4 TRUCKS AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT FROM DUVAL
FORD FLEET SALES FOR USE BY THE PARKS DIVISION, IN AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FORTY-TWO THOUSAND SEVENTY-TWO
DOLLARS ($42,072.00); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO
ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Parks Division of the Cultural and Community Services Department has
six (6) to (8) employees working at one time covering seven (7) parks, and the current fleet
consists of four (4) vehicles; and
WHEREAS, with the addition of Intracoastal Park and Pier Park, the area in which the
Parks Division must cover has grown, and each employee should have a vehicle to use while on
duty to perform their job efficiently; and
WHEREAS, the vehicles were budgeted in Fiscal Year 2012-2013 and with the re-
opening of the Pier and the near completion of Intracoastal Park, the City purchased two (2) Ford
F150 4x4 vehicles and associated equipment from Duval Ford Fleet Sales, piggy-backing Florida
Sheriff's Association Bid No. 13-21-0904, in an amount not to exceed Forty-Two Thousand
Seventy-Two Dollars ($42,072.00).
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ratifying the Purchase of Vehicles. The City Commission hereby ratifies the
purchase of two (2) Ford F150 4x4 trucks and associated equipment from Duval Ford Fleet
Sales, for use by the Parks Division, in an amount not to exceed Forty-Two Thousand Seventy-
Two Dollars ($42,072.00).
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of October 2013.

RE: Ratification of the Purchase of 2 Ford Trucks from Duval Ford
• RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission approve the attached resolution to
ratify the purchase of 2 Ford F 150 4X4 trucks to be used by the Parks Division
in the amount not to exceed Forty Two Thousand, Seventy Two Dollars
($42,072.00).
REASONS:
The Parks Division of the Cultural and Community Services Department, when
fully staffed, often has 6 to 8 employees working at one time covering 7 parks.
The current fleet consists of 4 vehicles. With the addition of Intracoastal Park and
Pier Park, the area in which they must cover has grown and each employee
should have a vehicle to use while on duty to perform their job efficiently.
This purchase is through pricing approved by Bid # 13-21-0904 of the Florida
Sheriffs Association.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
These items were budgeted in Fiscal Year 2012-2013 however actual purchase
was held until the need was evident. With the re-opening of the Pier and the near
completion of Intracoastal Park, it was now time to make the purchase.
