A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING RESOLUTION
NO. 2013-2115 APPROVING A CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTION
TO SUNNY ISLES BEACH SOCIAL SENIORS EVENTS, INC. A
501(C)(3) CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION, TO COMBINE THE
FIRST TWO QUARTERLY PAYMENTS INTO A ONE-TIME
DOUBLE PAYMENT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIVE
THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5,000.00) IN ORDER TO ASSIST IN
ESTABLISHING THE START-UP NEEDS OF THE
ORGANIZATION; PROVIDING THE CITY MANAGER WITH
THE AUTHORITY TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO
EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on September 19, 2013 via Resolution No. 2013-2115, the City
Commission approved a charitable contribution to the Sunny Isles Beach Social Seniors Events,
Inc. a 501(c)3 Charitable Organization with certain terms and conditions; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to combine the first two quarterly payments into a one-time
double payment in an amount not to exceed Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) in order to assist
in establishing the start-up needs of the Organization; and
WHEREAS, the officers or employees of Sunny Isles Beach Social Seniors Events, Inc.
shall not withdraw salaries for six (6) months with all other terms and conditions remaining the
same.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section I. Amending Resolution No. 2013-2115. The City Commission hereby amends
Resolution No. 2013-2115 by authorizing a one-time double payment to Sunny Isles Beach
Social Seniors Events, Inc., in an amount not to exceed Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00). For
six (6) months from October 1, 2013, Social Seniors Events, Inc. agrees that it shall not use the
$5,000.00 contribution made by the City for salaries of employees or officers of the organization.
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of October 2013.

RE: Amending Resolution No. 2013-2115: Sunny Isles Beach Social
Seniors Events, Inc.
RECOMMENDATION:
This Resolution is presented for your consideration at the request of
Commissioner George "Bud" Scholl.
REASONS:
Amending Resolution No. 2013-2115 by combining the first two quarterly
payments into a one-time double payment in an amount not to exceed Five
Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) in order to assist in establishing the start-up needs
of the Organization. The officers of Sunny Isles Beach Social Seniors Events,
Inc. will not withdraw salaries for six (6) months with all other terms and
conditions remaining the same.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
On September 19, 2013 via Resolution No. 2013-2115, the City Commission
approved a charitable contribution to the Sunny Isles Beach Social Seniors
Events, Inc. a 501(c)3 Charitable Organization with certain terms and conditions.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding is available in Fiscal Year 2013-2014 Budget appropriation from General
Fund.
