A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, DECLARING
ISAAC AELION AS VICE MAYOR; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Mayor has the authority to nominate the Vice Mayor, with confirmation by
the City Commission; and
WHEREAS, the City Charter of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, provides that there
shall be a Vice Mayor who shall be appointed in any calendar year in which there is no regular City
Election at the first Commission meeting in the month of November of such year.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Declaration of Vice Mayor. That Isaac Aelion shall be Vice Mayor commencing
immediately, pursuant to §2.2(b) of the City of Sunny Isles Beach Municipal Charter.
Section 2. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21" day of November 2013.

RE: Appointment of Vice Mayor
RECOMMENDATION:
® Adopt the Resolution declaring Isaac Aelion as the Vice Mayor.
REASONS:
The Mayor has the authority to nominate the Vice Mayor with confirmation by the
City Commission. Section 2.2(b) of the City Charter provides that there shall be a
Vice Mayor who shall be appointed in any calendar year in which there is no
