A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, APPROVAL TO EXPEND UP TO
THIRTY -FOUR THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS
($34,200.00) TO PETERSON'S HARLEY - DAVIDSON OF MIAMI,
L.L.C., FOR THE SECOND YEAR OF AN EXISTING TWO -YEAR
CONTRACT FOR THE LEASE OF UP TO SIX (6) POLICE
MOTORCYCLES AND ACCESSORIES, ATTACHED HERETO
AS EXHIBIT "A "; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO
ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS
RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on April 15, 2010 via Resolution No. 2010 -1549 the City Commission
approved a Lease Agreement with Peterson's Harley- Davidson of Miami, LLC, for a period of
Two (2) years to meet the motorcycle needs of the City's Police Department in the performance
of police- related or law enforcement duties; and
WHEREAS, the City being satisfied with Peterson's Harley- Davidson motorcycles and
service renewed the lease in 2012 for an additional two (2) years; and
WHEREAS, the City now seeks approval to expend up to Thirty -Four Thousand Two
Hundred Dollars ($34,200.00) to Peterson's Harley Davidson to continue the second year of the
contract renewal to lease up to six (6) Police motorcycles and accessories for the Sunny Isles
Beach Police Department, attached hereto as Exhibit "A ".
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of Expenditure. The City Commission hereby approves the expenditure
of up to Thirty -Four Thousand Two Hundred Dollars ($34,200.00) to Peterson's Harley -
Davidson of Miami, LLC for the second year of the contract renewal to lease up to six (6) Police
motorcycles and accessories, attached hereto as Exhibit "A ".
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21" day of November 2013.

RE: Authorization to expend up to $34,200 for the lease of up to six (6)
Police Motorcycles from Peterson's Harley Davidson, Miami in FY
2013/2014
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution
authorizing the expenditure of up to $34,200 for the lease of up to six (6) Police
Motorcycles from Peterson's Harley Davidson in F ' 201 312014
REASONS:
The Sunny Isles Beach Police Department is currently in the second year of a
two year lease with Peterson's Harley- Davidson of Miami for the lease of up to
six (6) Police Motorcycles.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The current lease proposal includes; all police equipment (Lights, Siren and
Storage Box) all tires and maintenance for $475.00 per month, per motorcycle.
Peterson's Harley- Davidson, Miami also provides loaner police motorcycles
during repair and maintenance.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Police Budget 10.521.5441 (Equipment Rental)
