HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2013-2155RESOLUTION NO. 2013 - 215-5 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF DIESEL FUEL FROM MACMILLAN OIL COMPANY OF FLORIDA, INC., FOR THE 2,000- GALLON ABOVE GROUND TANK LOCATED ON THE SOUTHWEST PORTION OF GOVERNMENT CENTER, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SEVENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($70,000.00) ANNUALLY; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on March 15, 2007 via Resolution No. 2007 -1062, the City Commission approved the purchase and installation of a diesel fuel pump to keep the City's emergency fuel supply fresh and to be used for the City's buses and street sweeper; and WHEREAS, on January 20, 2011 via Resolution No. 2011 -1662, the City Commission approved an Agreement with Macmillan Oil Company of Florida, Inc. for the purchase of diesel fuel for the 2,000 gallon above ground tank located on the southwest portion of Government Center, in an amount not to exceed Sixty -Five Thousand Dollars ($65,000.00) annually; and. WHEREAS, on April 19, 2012 via Resolution No. 2012 -1896, the City Commission approved an Agreement with Macmillan Oil Company of Florida, Inc. for the purchase of diesel fuel for the 2,000 gallon above ground tank located on the southwest portion of Government Center, in an amount not to exceed Sixty -Five Thousand Dollars ($65,000.00) annually, and. WHEREAS, the City now wishes to continue the agreement for a third year with Macmillan Oil Company of Florida, Inc. for the purchase of diesel fuel, piggybacking from Miami -Dade County RFP No. 683, for the 2,000 gallon above ground tank located on the southwest portion of Government Center, in an amount not to exceed Seventy Thousand Dollars ($70,000.00) annually. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Approval of Purchase. The City Commission hereby approves the purchase of diesel fuel from Macmillan Oil Company of Florida, Inc. for the 2,000 gallon above ground tank located on the southwest portion of Government Center, in an amount not to exceed Seventy Thousand Dollars ($70,000.00) annually. Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Section 3. Effective Date. Russo, City Manager Bill Evans, Assistant City Manager 11/21/2013 Approval for Purchase of Diesel Fuel from Macmillan Oil Company of Florida, Inc. RECOMMENDATION: Staff is recommending the City Commission approve the attached Resolution to purchase bulk diesel fuel from Macmillan Oil Company of Florida. REASONS: On January 20, 2.011 via Resolution No. 2011 -1662, the City Commission approved an Agreement with Macmillan Oil Company of Florida, Inc. for the purchase of diesel fuel for the 2,000 gallon above ground tank located on the southwest portion of the Government Center. The City wishes to continue the agreement for a third year for the purchase of the fuel, piggybacking from the Miami -Dade County RFP No. 683, for the 2,000 gallon tank in an amount not to exceed Seventy Thousand Dollars ($70,000.00) annually.
