A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AWARDING BID NO. 13 -10 -01 TO GRAPHPLEX
SIGNS FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO HUNDRED (200) DECORATIVE
STREET SIGNS AND POSTS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED NINETY -
FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS (594,000.00), ATTACHED HERETO AS
EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL
THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach desires to purchase decorative street signs and
posts for continuity and beautification of the City; and
WHEREAS, the City is in need of a provider of decorative street signs and posts and issued
Bid No. 13 -10 -01 to provide Decorative Street Signs and Posts, for which four (4) responses were
received; and
WHEREAS, staff has recommended Graphplex Signs based on relevant experience,
qualifications, and past performances related to the specific Bid requirements; and
WHEREAS, Graphplex Signs is willing and able to provide said services; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to award Bid No. 13 -10 -01 to Graphplex Signs for
the purchase of two hundred (200) Decorative Street Signs and Posts, in an amount not to exceed
Ninety -Four Thousand Dollars ($94,000.00), attached hereto as Exhibit "A ".
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Incorporation of Recitals. The recitals set forth in this resolution are incorporated
herein by reference as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2. Award of Bid and Approval of Purchase. The City Commission hereby awards Bid
No. 13 -10 -01 to Graphplex Signs and approves the purchase of two hundred (200) Decorative Signs
and Posts for use in the City, in an amount not to exceed Ninety -Four Thousand Dollars
($94,000.00), attached hereto as Exhibit "A ".
Section 3. Authorization of City Manager_ The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 4. Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21St day of November 2013.

Notwithstanding the above sample specifications, each Proposer is invited to submit their own
specifications for custom street signage.

Awarding Bid No. 13 -10 -01 to GraphPlex Signs for the Purchase of
200 Decorative Street Signs and Posts
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff is recommending the City Commission approve the resolution authorizing
the nurrthase of 200 decorative street ginns and Doles.
REASONS:
The City of Sunny Isles Beach in its effort to be rated a first class City, is in need
of new and improved signage for both pedestrians and motorist. Staff wishes to
award the Bid Number 13 -10 -01 to GraphPlex Signs for 200 - 44 custom street
signs and poles in an amount not to exceed Ninety-Four Thousand Dollars
($94,000.00)
There was a lower bidder, however the lower bidder was disqualified due to the
prepared mock -up was not of sufficient quality.
In an ongoing effort by staff to save the City money, the Department of Public
Works will install the decorative street signs and poles.
