A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING A DONATION TO
JOSHUA'S HEART FOUNDATION FOR THEIR FUNDRAISING
EFFORTS AT JAZZ FEST 2013, IN THE AMOUNT OF ONE THOUSAND
DOLLARS (S1,000.00); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO
ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION:
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Cite of Sunny Isles Beach is committed to participating and informing
its residents of cultural events and activities taking place in and around our community; and
WHEREAS, Joshua's Heart Foundation was the designated sponsor for Jazz Fest 2013
on November 16, 2013. and has been the sponsor for the past five (5) years; and
WHEREAS, Joshua's Heart Foundation provided the volunteers to assist in the event
free of charge and marketed the event to all of their followers: and
WHEREAS, in return, the City designated the net proceeds of the drink sales. net
proceeds of the original art auction and one dollar (S 1.00) of each poster sale to benefit Joshua's
Heart Foundation: and
WHEREAS, this year's donation is in an amount of Five Hundred Seventy Dollars and
Eighteen Cents (S570.18). and the City Commission wishes to donate an additional Four
Hundred Twenty -Nine Dollars and Eighty -Two Cents (5429.82) for a total amount of One
Thousand Dollars (51.000.00).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section L Approval of Donation. The Citv Commission hereby approves the donation of
One Thousand Dollars (51,000.00) to Joshua's Heart Foundation for the Fundraising efforts at
Jazz Fest 2013 on November 16. 2013.
Section 2. Authoritv of City Manaeer. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 1. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19'" day of December 2013.

We are excited to be the benefiting charity again this year for the 6' annual Sunny Isles
Beach Jazz Festival. We will provide the volunteers and the Liquor license and proceeds
from the sale of beer, wine and water will be donated to Joshua's Heart Foundation to
support its mission of stomping out hunger.

Donation to Joshua's Heart Foundation
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission approve the attached resolution to
make payment to Joshua's Heart Foundation for the fundraising efforts at Jazz
Fest 2013 in the name of Joshua's Heart Foundation in the amount of Five
Hundred Seventy Dollars and Eighteen Cents ($570.18).
REASONS:
Joshua's Heart Foundation was the designated sponsor for Jazz Fest 2013. They
provided the volunteers to assist in the event free of charge and marketed the
event to all of their followers. In return, the City designated the net proceeds of
the drink sales, net proceeds of the original art auction and one dollar of each
poster sale to benefit Joshua's Heart Foundation. This year's donation totaled
$570.18.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Joshua's Heart Foundation has been the designated sponsor of Jazz Fest for the
past 5 years.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Payment for this item will be made from the revenue account in which the funds
collected were deposited into, 10 -0.347 -907.
