A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING THE NORTH MIAMI
BEACH LITTLE LEAGUE WITH IN -KIND SUPPORT IN AN
ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS ($4,000.00)
FOR USE OF THE CHIEF FRED MAAS BASEBALL FIELD TO
PROVIDE A RECREATIONAL BASEBALL PROGRAM;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS
NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION: PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is committed to providing a variety of quality
recreational opportunities to our community, and
WHEREAS, the North Miami Beach Little League and Sunny Isles Beach are dedicated
to activities that benefit the children of the Sunny Isles Beach community; and
WHEREAS, the North Miami Beach Little League organization has requested use of the
Chief Fred Maas Baseball Field to provide a recreational baseball program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is dedicated to supporting these activities
with an in -kind donation of free use of the field, as well as City personnel to assist in these sport
activities, in an estimated amount of Four Thousand Dollars ($4,000.00).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of Donation. The City Commission hereby approves the donation of in-
kind support for North Miami Beach Little League of free use of the Chief Fred Maas Baseball
Field located at Pelican Community Park, and City personnel assisting in these sport activities, in
an estimated amount of Four Thousand Dollars ($4,000.00).
Section 2. Authority of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16"' day of January 2014.

Hi Susan:
Nice to meet you yesterday at the City Commission Meeting. As discussed I am including the dates we are asking for use
of the CFM baseball field as an In -Kind donation.
This request Includes practices and Games. We would like Monday- Thursday from 5:OOpm- 9:OOpm, Saturday from
9:OOam- 6:OOpm, and Sunday from 9:OOam- 5:OOpm from January 13th to July 10, 2014.
I know the next City Commission Meeting is not until the 16th of January, but I when i spoke to City Attorney, Hans
Ottinot after the meeting he mentioned it may be possible to pass a resolution beforehand so we could start practice on
the 13th.
Please let me know if you need anything more from us. We look forward to hearing from you.

RE: Resolution to Approve an In -Kind Donation to North Miami Beach
Little League
0 RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission approve the attached resolution to
support the North Miami Beach Little League baseball program with an in -kind
donation of free use of the baseball field. This in -kind donation has an estimated
value of Four Thousand Dollars ($4,000.00).
REASONS:
The City of Sunny Isles Beach is committed to providing a variety of high quality
cultural and recreational programs for all ages of the community. Partnering with
North Miami Beach Little League will add another program for the community
without out -of- pocket expenses to the City.
North Miami Beach Little League is a quality, recreational baseball program.
They utilize the services of volunteers and rely on donations, both monetary and
in -kind, to keep the registration fees reasonable for the players. Our in -kind
donation will further their efforts to provide a quality baseball program to our
community.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The City is unable to accommodate all of the hours requested due to City
programs already planned and advertised for the field. However the City will be
