A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, CO- NAMING 185 STREET AS
"DEZER WAY "; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXPEND FUNDS IN AN AMOUNT OF UP TO $600.00, FOR THE
INSTALLATION OF STREET SIGNS AND TO DO ALL OTHER
THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE INTENT OF THIS
RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Dezer Family is a major developer in Sunny Isles Beach that has
contributed to the transformation of Sunny Isles Beach ti-om '`motel row" to the "Florida's
Riviera" that it is today. and
WHEREAS, the Dezer Family have been active and outstanding members of the City of
Sunny Isles Beach business community participating in events, partnering with the City on Sister
City initiatives, managing a world class beach resort as well as develop luxury condominiums,
and are in the planning stages to build an equally magnificent office building; and
WHEREAS. the Dezer Family have proven to be a good partner and it is the City's
desire to recognize outstanding community partners; and
WHEREAS, their latest development, the Porsche Design Tower Miami, has created a
buzz worldwide, and this Commission would like to honor the Dezer Family for their many
contributions to this City by co- naming the street near this project, 185 Street at Collins Avenue
as "Dezer Way "; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate and fitting that 185 Street be named "Dezer Way" to honor
the Dezer Family for their contributions made to this City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of Co- Naming of Street. The City of Sunny Isles Beach formally
approves and requests the approval of Miami -Dade County to co- designate 185 Street as "Dezer
Way" in honor of the Dezer family.
Section 2. Authorization of City Manama The City Manager is hereby authorized to
disburse funds to Miami -Dade County in an amount of up to Six Hundred Dollars ($600.00) for
the installation of street signs and to do all other things necessary to effectuate the intent of this
resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This resolution will become effective upon adoption.

RE: Co -Name 185 Street at Collins Avenue as Dezer Way
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission approve the attached resolution to
co -name 185 Street at Collins Avenue as Dezer Way.
REASONS:
The Dezer Family is a major developer in Sunny Isles Beach that has contributed
to the transformation of Sunny Isles Beach from 'motel row' to the 'florida's
riviera' that it is today. They have invested in the City as well as in the community
of Sunny Isles Beach. They participate in events, they partner with the City on
Sister City initiatives, they manage a world class beach resort as well as develop
luxury condominiums. They are also in the planning stages to build an equally
magnificent office building.
The Dezer Family has proven to be a good partner and it is the City's desire to
recognize outstanding community partners. Their latest development, the
