Home My WebLink AboutReso 2019-2911 RESOLUTION NO. 2019 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, TO ACCEPT THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE CITY'S PUBLIC ARTS ADVISORY COMMITTEE ("PAAC") FOR APPROVAL OF ART IN PUBLIC PLACES APPLICATION NO. AP2018-05 SUBMITTED BY SUNNY ISLES PROPERTY VENTURE, LLC ("APPLICANT') FOR THE PLACEMENT OF A PABLO ATCHUGARRY SCULPTURE ON THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 15800 COLLINS AVENUE; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on January 31, 2019, Sunny Isles Property Venture, LLC ("Applicant") submitted an application to the City's Public Arts Advisory Committee ("PAAC") for the placement of Il Fiore — The Flower, a Pablo Atchugarry sculpture, on the property located at 15800 Collins Avenue; and WHEREAS, after the Applicant's presentation and reviewing the work of art, the PAAC recommends the City Commission approve Art in Public Places Application No. AP2018-05 submitted by the Applicant for the placement of a Pablo Atchugarry sculpture on the property located at 15800 Collins Avenue; and WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to accept the recommendation made by the PAAC and approve Art in Public Places Application No. AP2018-05 as submitted by the applicant. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Acceptance of Recommendation and Approval of Application. The City Commission hereby accepts the recommendation made by the PAAC and approves Art in Public Places Application No. AP2018-05 as submitted by Sunny Isles Property Venture, LLC for the placement of a Pablo Atchugarry sculpture on the property located at 15800 Collins Avenue. Section 2. Authorization of the City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Section 3. Effective Date. REASONS: The Ritz Sales Center located at 15800 Collins Ave has installed and rotated several pieces of art. The latest proposal was installed right before this past Art Basel, which required us to coordinate for an after the installation approval. The piece of art was presented to the PAAC on January 31, 2019 and attached is their recommendation for approval.The piece of art is called Ii Fiore by Pablo Atchugarry.
