A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
FLORIDA,OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, APPROVING
A FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH
HOST COMPLIANCE, LLC FOR SHORT-TERM RENTAL
COMPLIANCE MONITORING AND ENFORCEMENT, IN
AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FORTY-NINE
THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED NINETY-FIVE DOLLARS
($49,995.00)*, ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A";
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
SAID AMENDMENT AND TO DO ALL THINGS
NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Host Compliance, LLC, was identified by staff to be a sole source provider
of short-term rental compliance monitoring and enforcement solutions; and
WHEREAS, on May 17, 2018, via Resolution No. 2018-2820 the City Commission
authorized the City Manager to negotiate and enter into an Agreement with Host Compliance for
Short-Term Rental Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement ("Agreement"); and
WHEREAS, on June 15, 2018 the City Manager executed the Agreement with Host
Compliance; and
WHEREAS, Host Compliance, LLC has expressed the desire and ability to continue
providing the services to the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission now wishes to approve a First Amendment to the
Agreement with Host Compliance, LLC for short-term rental compliance monitoring and
enforcement services, thereby renewing the Agreement for a period of one (1) year to June 14,
2020, attached hereto as Exhibit"A".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of First Amendment. The City Commission hereby approves a First
Amendment to the Agreement with Host Compliance for short-term rental compliance
monitoring and enforcement services, attached hereto as Exhibit "A".
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute
said First Amendment and to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
*Clerk's Note: This resolution was revised after the fact to correct a minor clerical error.

First Amendment to Host Compliance Services Agreement
"Amendment") dated June. 4th, 2019
(the "Effective Date") hereby FIRST AMENDMENT (the amends the
Services Agreement entered into as of June 15th,2018(the''Agreement")between Host Compliance LIC,a Delaware
limited liability company("Host Compliance")and City of Sunny Isles Beach,with an address at 18070 Collins Avenue,
Sunny Isles Beach, FL 33160 (the"Customer").
Customer herebyelects to renew the Agreement for the time
1. Pursuant to Section 5.1 of the Agreement, g
period from June 15, 2019 to June 14, 2020. Payment is split into 2 payments of equal amounts,the first
payment invoiced at Amendment execution and the second payment invoiced after January 15,2020.
2. Scope of services is to include a collaborative approach to achieve 70%of full address identification (to the
unit number) on unique STR rental units.
3. Except as set forth in this Amendment,the Agreement is unaffected and shall continue in full force and effect
in accordance with its terms. If there is conflict between this Amendment and the Agreement,the terms of
this Amendment will prevail.

RECOMMENDATION:
This Resolution is presented for your consideration.
REASONS:
Host Complianoe, LLC, is our Short Term Rental monitoring and „ -
compliance consultant and this is the first one-year renewal amendment

to our original contract. The term is from June 15, 2019 to June 14, _ _
2020 for a total amount of,$49,995.00 which is the same amount as last
year. As of this month, there are approximately, 2,200 potential units
beingadvertised with 645 units beingin compliance.
