A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO. 2018-2790 TO REDUCE THE
COMPOSITION OF THE PUBLIC ARTS ADVISORY
COMMITTEE (`PAAC") FROM SEVEN (7) MEMBERS TO
FIVE (5) MEMBERS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 2018-2799, adopted on March 15, 2018, the City
Commission revised the composition of the Public Arts Advisory Committee from five (5) to
seven (7)members; and
WHEREAS, after careful consideration the City Commission wishes to amend
Resolution No. 2018-2799 to reduce the composition of the PAAC from seven (7) members to
five (5) members.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Incorporation of Recitals. The foregoing recital paragraphs are hereby ratified
and confirmed as being true and the same are hereby made part of this Resolution.
Section 2. Reduction of Composition of Public Arts Advisory Committee: The City
Commission hereby reduces the composition of the Public Arts Advisory Committee from seven
(7) members to five (5) members, as follows:

• RECOMMENDATION.
This item is presented for your consideration.
REASONS:
•
We would appreciate the Commission's reconsideration of the official
composition of the PAAC.: Committee.; ,One-:.member has never
attended a meeting. She should be removed.:Another, because of work
schedule, sometimes has difficulty making::it:to. meetings. She should
become an alternate,.rather±thana full time-:;member: She is amenable
to this arrangement. Sometimes we have difficulty scheduling because
• _ . our members have busy schedules and this past month,we actually had
to cancel the last meeting because we.could .not:achieve a quorum, at
- the last minute, due to planned and unplanned travel schedules" This
issue would be resolved if the Commission would agree to officially
• reduce the umber ofimembers•-of the-committee from'seve.n to five,
thereby making a quorum more easily achievable:
