A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE TO
PURCHASE ORDER WITH THE MIAMI HERALD FOR FISCAL YEAR
2018/2019, IN AN AMOUNT NO TO EXCEED AMOUNT FIFTEEN
THOUSAND DOLLARS ($15,000.00) ADVERTISING SERVICES;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS
NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, The Miami Herald is a major daily newspaper in South Florida; and
WHEREAS, since the City's incorporation, the City has complied with various State
public noticing requirements by placing legal notices in various sections of The Miami Herald;
and
WHEREAS, on September 20, 2018 via Resolution No. 2018-2855, the City
Commission approved blanket purchase orders.with various vendors for Fiscal Year 2018/2019,
in an amount not to exceed Twenty-Four Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00); and
WHEREAS, due to an increase in demand of advertising services needed to legally
comply with statutory obligations to inform residents and property owners of public hearings and
other related matters regarding the City, an additional Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000.00) is
needed for The Miami Herald, bringing the total not to exceed amount to Sixty-Five Thousand
Dollars ($65,000.00).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of Increase. The City Commission hereby approves an increase in an
amount not to exceed Fifteen Thousand ($15,000.00) to Fifty-Seven Thousand Dollars
($57,000.00), bringing the total amount not to exceed Sixty-Five Thousand Dollars, with the
Miami Herald Publishing Company for advertising services.
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.
