A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING A GRANT
AGREEMENT WITH THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE 174TH
STREET PEDESTRIAN OVERPASS BRIDGE, IN AN AMOUNT
NOT TO EXCEED FOUR HUNDRED TWENTY-FIVE
THOUSAND DOLLARS ($425,000.00), ATTACHED HERETO AS
EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT AND TO DO ALL THINGS
NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City, in its efforts to improve pedestrian safety, will be constructing a
pedestrian overpass bridge to be located over Collins Avenue and 174t1i Street ("Bridge"); and
WHEREAS, the City has applied for a grant with the Florida Department of
Transportation in an amount of Four Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($425,000.00) to
partially fund the construction of the bridge; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to approve a grant agreement with the Florida
Department of Transportation to partially fund improvements to the construction of the
pedestrian overpass bridge, in the amount not to exceed Four Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand
Dollars ($425,000.00), attached hereto as Exhibit "A".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of Grant Agreement. The CityCommission herebyapproves

agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation to partially fund improvements to the
construction of the pedestrian overpass bridge, in the amount not to exceed Four Hundred
Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($425,000.00), attached hereto as Exhibit "A".
Section 2. Authority to Enter into a Grant Agreement. The City Manager is hereby
authorized to execute a grant agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation.
Section 3. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized zed to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 4. Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.
