A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING A CONCEPTUAL PLAN
BY O'LEARY RICHARDS DESIGN ASSOCIATES, INC. FOR THE
MEDITATION GARDEN AT TOWN CENTER PARK, ATTACHED
HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Public Arts Advisory Committee ("PAAC") was created with the intent
to advise the City Commission on matters of Public Art; and
WHEREAS, the PAAC requested undertaking a pilot project and was tasked with
repurposing the parcel of land formerly used as the Skate Park at Town Center Park ("TCP"); and
WHEREAS, after receiving input and feedback from the PAAC, the Consultant
presented a conceptual design for the TCP; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to approve the conceptual design for the Meditation Garden
at Town Center Park to proceed with the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of Conceptual Design. The City Commission hereby approves the
conceptual design for an art park at Town Center Park ("Meditation Garden"), attached hereto as
Exhibit"A".
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
